BSEN 50637:2017 requires gaps, including between the rails, to be smaller for children than for adults. The allowed gap is 6cm, half of the allowed gap for adults. This is why we add the mesh linked safety sides to the PCC NL bed when it is required for a child. The PCC NL bed is very robust and is well made. The PCC NL Bed is 90cm wide and 200cm long.

The Theracare PCC NL bed, with adaptions for younger users, is a very safe and reliable bed that complies with the Childrens Bed Standard BSEN 50637: 2017. It is a quality adjustable bed that is not mass produced. This means that the design and quality has not been driven by cost savings.

To comply with the Childrens Bed Standard BSEN 50637: 2017, there must be at least 22cm of cot side height above the uncompressed mattress. The PCC NL bed has 46cm of cot side height above the platform, and 31cm above an uncompressed Theraposture Mattress.

This mattress is suitable for individuals at high risk of developing a pressure sore. The cover is waterproof and has a multi-directional stretch allowing the foam inside to work with optimum performance. Each longer side of the W24 has an in-built firm transfer edge designed to be more supportive when sitting on the edge of the bed.

Medium degree of pressure management

This mattress is suitable for individuals at medium risk of developing a pressure sore. The cover is waterproof and has a multi-directional stretch allowing the foam inside to work with optimum performance.

Delivery and installation

Theraposture personally deliver and install your PCC NL Bed in any room within your home, including rooms that are upstairs. The delivery is planned carefully with you and a date and time is agreed. Two experienced technicians will carefully build the PCC NL in your bedroom and can help to move existing furniture if needed. We also provide a bed disposal service and a 14-day storage before disposal option if needed. Each delivery includes full training and a chance to try the bed whilst we are there, to be sure it is what you need.

Is a mattress included?

No, but we have a wide range of pressure care mattress to choose from.

Can the bed be made longer or shorter?

The PCC NL Bed be extended by 10 or 20cm. the PCC NL Bed cannot be made shorter.

How is it made suitable for children and young adults?

We enclose the gaps between the side rails using a mesh material. This makes the side rails safe for smaller users.

How many controllers will I receive?

One handset is supplied. This is attached to the bed on the side that you prefer.

Will you deliver upstairs?

Yes, we do. The TheraCare PCC NL Bed is designed to be safely and easily delivered anywhere in your home.

Will you take my old bed away?

Yes, we will for a small charge. We can even store your bed for 14 days should you need to return your PCC NL Bed.

How long is the warranty?

Our warranty is fully inclusive covering all parts, labour, and call-out for 3 years. This can be extended to 5 years, and annual servicing is also available.

What if I change my mind?

Up to and including the day of your delivery, you can choose to cancel your order or decide not to keep your PCC NL Bed and there if no cost to you. Following this we have a returns policy allowing the bed to be returned within the first 14 days for a 10% retention.
