Bed, Cot and Leg Lifter FAQs
What is a Rotating bed?
Rotating beds have been available in the UK for over 20 years. Theraposture were the first company to provide them and have become the market leading specialist. Getting legs into bed is a problem for many people – the Orbit and Rotoflex Rotating Beds offer the solution. At the touch of one button, these beds will move you from an upright seated to a lying position and vice versa. They also help to stand you up. Rotating beds allow for independent bed transfers on your own terms.
Why is a Rising Foot Support essential on a rotating bed?
The Orbit and Rotoflex from Theraposture are the ONLY rotating bed that can be supplied with a Patented electrically operated Rising Foot Section that moves upwards and diagonally towards the elevated leg section so there is no gap. This innovation ensures that the calf and foot are fully supported when elevated, with no gaps.
Without this rising foot section on a Rotating Bed there may be pressure points on the lower calf and as the ankles will be below the knee which will not aid fluid drain for those with fluid retention.
Can I try a Rotating bed in my home?
Yes, we can arrange a Combined Delivery and Assessment. This is free, with no deposit required, and allows you to try a Rotating Bed in the best possible setting – your own home. You can decide to keep the Rotating Bed at the end of the Assessment.
What is the advantage of a Combined Delivery and Assessment (CDA)?
You will be able to try a bed in your home, with the option to keep it if you think that it will be a good solution for you. No deposit is needed – we simply ask you to consider the process as an order, and to have the intention to keep the bed is it is suitable for you.
The actual bed you want to buy, or rent is used in the CDA, so you would need to decide if you would like a new or a refurbished bed and advise us regarding the direction of the rotation.
CDA’s mean a no risk opportunity to try before you buy in your own home, with no deposit needed and no cost incurred at all if you decide that it is not for you. You get your bed much quicker this way, and the bonus is that we do not charge you for delivery as we one combining the assessment and delivery in one visit.
