What is an Emergency Equipment Loan?

Newlife understands that some children just don’t have time to wait for assessments and urgently need equipment to maintain their health and keep them safe.

Newlife provides the UK’s only rapid response equipment loan service so children who are at significant risk of injury or in urgent need because of their shortened life expectancy. Thanks to our partnership with Theraposture we can act immediately, often delivering specialist cots and beds within 72 hours of terms and conditions being agreed, to meet the short-term crisis.

How it works

We supply, deliver, install, maintain and collect our assistive products on behalf of Newlife. This service is FREE and often results in a solution being in place within 72 hours.

Call Newlife’s Care Services team and they will talk you through the application process.

They will interview you and your local health or social care professional and once you have accepted the terms and conditions delivery of the equipment will be arranged. Theraposture will deliver, install and also provide ongoing support and maintenance of the equipment – so you aren’t alone.

How long does it take?

It depends on the urgency of the situation and whether we have the specific equipment available. We are often able to get equipment to families within 72 hours anywhere in the UK.

Are we eligible?

If the child/young person is under 19 years old, is a permanent resident in the UK and is at immediate risk of significant injury, has a life-threatening/limiting condition or is terminally ill, then you could be eligible for an Emergency Equipment Loan.
