The Theraposture stand at Kidz North will once again be highlighting rapid delivery care cot packages to visiting families and healthcare professionals.

Commonly following a hospital discharge or when a disabled child is at risk, it can take several weeks or even months to receive an appropriate care cot. An adjustable care cot can provide safety and comfort through a range of features such as profiling and height adjustment of the mattress, specialist padding and secure doors. Without a safe sleeping solution, families are placed in an unacceptable position that could lead to further issues and discomfort for a child. To avoid this unsustainable scenario, Theraposture provides a rapid care cot package delivery service which means an appropriate solution can be installed within two weeks of a clinical specification.

Theraposture provides two choices of package which include an electrically adjustable Mascot cot with either 60cm or 98cm high doors so varying user needs can be met. Each cot is supplied with a specialist mattress and full-height soft padding with soft clear windows to allow visual access both in and out.

Neutral padding colours have been chosen for ease of re-issue and each cot fully complies with
BSEN60601-2-52 and BSEN50637. With extensive stock at its headquarters in Westbury, Wiltshire, Theraposture can provide an installation date quickly following a clinical client assessment by either its in-house occupational therapist or Trusted Assessors, or an independent healthcare professional. Specialist technicians can manage the complete installation with full safety protocols for a trusted outcome and peace of mind.

In terms of cots on stand C3, Theraposture will be exhibiting the Mascot and Timmy. The Mascot is the only fully modular, adjustable care cot with a flexible design that can be adapted to meet changing user needs. The powered Timmy is a specialist cot for more complex needs especially suited for children who are unable to sit up on their own. Available in a range of sizes, its design is compatible with feeding and breathing equipment and all cot sides drop-down for 360-degree access.

Cot bed regulations are complex and can often be misunderstood by clinicians when prescribing cot beds for clients. The aim of the session is to provide information that specifically relates to the BS EN regulations. Products will be used within the webinar to specifically highlight the information being discussed, as this is expected to provide a more informative learning experience.

New for this year’s event

Theraposture will be displaying its Home and Away travel care cot. This cot has been developed for children who need safe surroundings at home or whilst travelling, such as those with severe Autism or challenging behaviour. This portable safe environment includes extensive padding with large windows for generous visibility and easy access for uncompromised care. The clever Home and Away design allows fast assembly and dis-assembly using strong zip and Velcro fastenings – hence repositioning is hassle-free. Each constituent section is lightweight so single-handed lifting and carrying is strain free and will fit in most standard cars.

If young users required more postural variety then powered functionality can be added to the sleeping surface such as height adjustment and/or profiling. Variable height provides extra safety for carers as the risk of back injury can be eliminated as the need to bend when providing support is greatly reduced.
